We are currently reading John Steinbeck's 'The Pearl'. This story is similar to Rita Williams-Garcia's story 'Diamond Land' about Ayize. The stories can be compared to each other based on the two main characters (both young men) and their economic status (both poor). Each man is in search of a better life for himself and his family. The pearl is a sad story.And the doctor is rude,mean.selfish,(etc.)I wonder if the baby is going to live!
